About the role#
The IT Client Services team supports Baird associates across more than 200 global locations. As an intern, you will resolve technology needs and assist with technical project planning for hardware and software upgrades. You will apply classroom knowledge to professional tasks while working alongside experienced team members through shadowing and mentorship.
What you'll do#
- Deliver client service to resolve issues and fulfill requests via phone, chat, online tools, or desk side support.
- Use the knowledge management system to troubleshoot client issues.
- Document, track, and monitor the lifecycle of every client request and incident.
- Provide technical support for corporate hardware and software, including remote support and offsite assistance for branch or conference activity.
- Assist with technical project planning for hardware and software upgrades.
- Participate in team projects and mentorship opportunities.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing an associate or bachelor degree in information technology management, information systems, computer science, MIS, or a related field.
- Anticipated graduation date of May 2028 or later.
- Technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and the Microsoft Office 365 suite.
- Basic technical skills with prior experience troubleshooting hardware and software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A professional, calm, and courteous approach to client service.
- Curiosity regarding how technology solves business problems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
- High level of motivation and proactivity.
- Experience installing or assembling computers is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
- Schedule: This is a hybrid role requiring three days per week in the office and two days remote.
- Commitment: Full-time (37.5-40 hours per week) during Summer 2027, with part-time work (15-20 hours per week) during school semesters.
- Start date: June 2027.
