    About the role#

    As a Student Web Developer, you will join the Web Platforms and Publishing Services team. This group manages web infrastructure, develops data pipelines, and maintains digital publishing solutions. You will work alongside developers, infrastructure specialists, and designers to support the Bank of Canada's web presence.

    What you'll do#

    • Collaborate on the development of web-based products.
    • Write clean code using PHP, Python, or JavaScript.
    • Support both back-end and front-end development tasks.
    • Contribute to team meetings by sharing ideas to improve processes and web applications.
    • Enhance the usability of websites and digital applications.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a co-op program at a college or university, pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
    • Hands-on experience with PHP, WordPress, Python, or JavaScript.
    • Understanding of front-end technologies, including CSS, React, and responsive design.
    • Experience with relational databases such as MySQL and MS SQL.
    • Experience with automated testing tools like PHPUnit, Behat, Selenium, and Playwright.
    • Ability to work in an English or French speaking environment.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Ottawa, Ontario.
    • Work Modality: Hybrid, with a minimum of 12 days per month on-site.
    • Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
    • Compensation: $28.73 per hour.
    • Eligibility: You must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and eligible to obtain Reliability security clearance.
