About the role#
This internship offers a chance to develop technical and professional skills through observation and hands-on demonstration. You will work under the direct supervision of a preceptor to learn the necessary skills of a licensed Radiologic Technologist. This is a paid, full-time position with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures to demonstrate anatomy.
- Position patients and equipment while adjusting technical factors for image quality.
- Use critical thinking to address patient needs and physical limitations.
- Deliver patient care and document patient history.
- Assess radiographic images for quality, annotation, and identification.
- Apply radiation safety principles and use PPE to prevent cross-contamination.
- Learn to use radiology computer systems like EPIC and PACS.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and well-stocked.
- Provide patient transport and perform other duties as assigned.
- Follow all policies, procedures, and state or federal regulations.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in the senior year of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Pre-approval from your school to participate in this internship.
- No prior experience is required.
- Ability to obtain a BLS/Healthcare Provider certification within 3 months of hire.
