    About the role#

    Bird Construction is hiring a Student HSE Coordinator for a co-op position in Regina, Saskatchewan. This role runs for 4 or 8 months starting in September 2026. You will work on-site and receive support from an assigned supervisor and technical mentor throughout your term.

    What you'll do#

    • Support site supervision with the implementation and management of the Bird Safety Program.
    • Participate in regular health and safety inspections of the workplace.
    • Work with Project Management to ensure trade contractors comply with the Bird Construction HSE program and relevant regulations.
    • Provide site-specific orientation to new workers and visitors.
    • Maintain statistics and records while monitoring accident and incident frequencies.
    • Assist in the development of site-specific safe work practices and hazard assessments.
    • Lead or participate in safety meetings and incident investigations.
    • Provide first aid assessment and treatment when necessary.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a Health, Safety, and Environment diploma or an equivalent program.
    • Completion of at least one semester of education following the internship.
    • A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
    • Ability to work in an environment that changes frequently.
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with team members.
    • Legal authorization to work in Canada.
    • A current transcript must be included with your application.
