About the role#
This is a 12-week, full-time internship for Summer 2027. You will work on-site to gain practical experience with active building construction projects. You will work alongside project engineers, superintendents, and project managers to apply your classroom knowledge to real-world challenges.
What you'll do#
- Perform quantity take-offs, layout, and site surveys.
- Assist with RFIs, submittals, and shop drawing reviews.
- Support quality control and safety programs.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and owners.
- Attend and document project meetings.
- Assist in maintaining project schedules and cost tracking.
- Review construction documents and specifications.
- Participate in punch-list and project closeout activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited program in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites.
- Strong analytical, math, and problem-solving skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication abilities.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with scheduling software is a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: Omaha, Nebraska.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Duration: 12 weeks during Summer 2027.
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship. A housing stipend is available for students living more than 50 miles from their assigned work location.
