About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in public accounting with a primary focus on tax and a secondary focus on audit. You will work full time alongside our team to support real client engagements. The role runs from January through the April 15th tax deadline.
What you'll do#
- Prepare fixed asset depreciation schedules across multiple book and tax bases.
- Input and adjust client trial balances within tax software.
- Prepare individual and business tax returns for professional review.
- Practice fundamental preparation skills for federal and state tax returns.
- Manage engagement time by tracking budgets and work in progress.
- Develop a foundational understanding of general ledgers and tax software.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Master's student in Accounting.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week, with availability for up to 50 hours per week from early March through April 15th.
- Basic knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Completion of a tax curriculum is preferred.
