About the role#
Braun Intertec is offering a 6-month co-op position in Tyler, Texas. This is a paid, full-time opportunity for students to gain field experience in civil engineering and construction materials testing. You will work alongside professional engineers and technicians to support commercial and transportation projects.
What you'll do#
- Perform testing on construction materials including soils, concrete, masonry, and asphalt.
- Conduct onsite testing at various construction locations.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure work meets project specifications.
- Participate in a 3-day training event covering construction safety, materials testing, and industry certifications.
- Gain exposure to ASTM, AASHTO, ACI, ICC, and DOT standards.
- Work with a professional engineer mentor throughout your term.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college degree program for civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record from the last 3 years.
- Ability to lift 75+ pounds.
- Capability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including on uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
- Ability to commit to a full-time, 6-month schedule.
- Availability to work overtime and weekends when required.

- Compensation: $20 - $24 per hour.
