About the role#
This summer position offers exposure to in-house legal practice within the oil and gas industry. You will work with the Corporate Legal Services team on matters including commercial litigation, insolvency, commercial contracts, procurement, and intellectual property. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Calgary.
What you'll do#
- Review and identify key information in legal documents like pleadings, court orders, garnishee summons, and affidavits.
- Assist Legal Counsel and Paralegals with document discovery, drafting, and updating complex commercial contracts.
- Perform legal research.
- Complete administrative tasks necessary for the legal department.
What you'll need#
- Completion of first year studies in Law.
- Knowledge of contract, commercial, and corporate law, as well as litigation concepts.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel.
- Strong reading and analytical skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work within tight timelines.
Location & details#
- Location: Calgary, Alberta.
- Term: 4 months, starting May 2027.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day.
- This is a paid position.
