About the role#
As a Process Engineering Intern, you will work directly with our engineering team to improve manufacturing methods and production efficiency. This role involves hands-on work in our Lake Charles facility, where you will help us refine workflows and support our safety and quality initiatives. You will gain practical exposure to productivity methodologies while contributing to real projects throughout the summer.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with engineers to optimize manufacturing processes.
- Gain exposure to LEAN, 5S, Kaizen, ergonomics, and time studies.
- Analyze engineering designs, prototypes, and change orders for manufacturability.
- Partner with EH&S staff to support safety and environmental goals.
- Evaluate equipment, tooling, materials, and automation decisions.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement process revisions.
- Conduct time studies and document workflows.
- Use CAD/CAM tools for design tasks.
- Adhere to all company safety and quality policies.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Availability to work 30 to 40 hours per week from May through August 2027.
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work on-site in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
- Capability to lift or move up to 15 pounds and spend time on the production floor.
