About the role#
We are looking for a Forensic Accounting and Litigation Intern to join our team for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in San Diego, California. You will gain hands-on experience in accounting frameworks, tax law, and audit methodologies within a forensic and litigation setting.
What you'll do#
- Review and summarize federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations.
- Assist senior team members with preliminary valuation, forensic, and appraisal analyses, including data entry for expert witness exhibits.
- Work with the discovery team to inventory and reconcile documents for submission to courts, attorneys, and clients.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with client staff to ensure high levels of service and responsiveness.
- Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to daily tasks, knowing when to seek guidance.
- Uphold strict professional standards and client confidentiality.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in accounting with plans to achieve CPA eligibility.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for internal and external interactions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to multi-task and work independently within a team.
- Strong analytical, research, and project management skills.
- Relevant academic, internship, or work experience in accounting, auditing, or investigative services is preferred.
- Active participation in student organizations or related work experience is a plus.
