About the role#
We are hiring a Tax Intern for the Spring 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Portland, Maine. You will work across diverse industries, including Real Estate, Construction, Healthcare, and Manufacturing.
What you'll do#
- Assist in planning tax assignments for various clients.
- Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, and C corporations.
- Build your tax compliance knowledge by helping with IRS audits, tax notices, trust returns, and gift and estate returns.
- Manage client assignments from start to finish.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with client staff.
- Follow professional standards and maintain client confidentiality.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program, with a preference for students pursuing a Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and intranet software.
- Analytical, research, and project management skills.
- Experience through student organizations or previous work in accounting or a related field.
- The ability to work independently and solve problems.
