About the role#
As a Nuclear Safety Intern, you will gain hands-on experience with the planning and execution of complex infrastructure and plant projects. You will work alongside nuclear safety engineers and project teams to see how safety considerations are integrated into engineering design, procurement, and construction. This role offers an opportunity to understand the lifecycle of major capital projects while building technical and professional skills.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineers and project managers with drafting and reviewing calculations and evaluations.
- Review design documents and support technical documentation.
- Analyze engineering data, review drawings, and check specifications.
- Coordinate with operations teams and participate in design, safety, and project coordination meetings.
- Present your key contributions and lessons learned at the end of the summer.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a bachelor or graduate program in nuclear, mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering, or a related field.
- Completion of at least one year of college-level coursework in an engineering or related program.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, or PowerPoint for data analysis and reporting.
- U.S. citizenship.
