About the role#
As an NMC&A Intern, you will support the control, accounting, and verification of nuclear materials in a highly regulated environment. You will work alongside professionals to gain practical experience in nuclear safeguards and materials management. This summer role is based in Piketon, Ohio, and requires full-time, on-site attendance.
What you'll do#
- Assist with inventory tracking and reconciliation.
- Review records and data for accuracy.
- Analyze engineering or measurement data.
- Support inventory verification activities.
- Help ensure NMC&A requirements are incorporated into project activities.
- Assist with the preparation of procedures, reports, and program documentation.
- Deliver a final presentation on your contributions and findings at the end of the summer.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in or recent completion of a bachelor’s or graduate program in Physics, Chemistry, Data Science, or related STEM fields.
- Completion of at least one year of college-level coursework in a technical field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for reporting and analysis.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test to meet requirements for accessing export-controlled information and Unclassified Controlled Nuclear Information.
