About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site at the Syncrude site in Fort McMurray. You will work on engineering design and project management tasks related to Electrical Heat Trace (EHT) systems.
What you'll do#
- Perform engineering design and analysis for EHT systems, including layouts and specification development.
- Create Construction Work Packages and Quality Work Packages, including Bills of Materials and test sheets.
- Monitor project progress and coordinate with project managers on scope, cost, and timelines.
- Prepare project requisitions and material documentation for customers.
- Manage supply chain priorities, including expediting materials and developing schedules.
- Support change orders by tracking quantities and preparing documentation.
- Maintain project records throughout the duration of the work.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related degree program.
- Familiarity with engineering, maintenance, or operations at a petrochemical or industrial facility.
- Previous experience with EHT systems is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience working with databases.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks based on deadlines.
- Attention to detail and a willingness to learn how to retrieve and work with data.
