About the role#
This is an unpaid, educational internship for college students. You will gain firsthand exposure to the operations of the City of Acworth Police Department. The role is non-sworn and non-certified. You will not carry weapons, conduct investigations, or perform patrol duties. Your work is observational and administrative, and it takes place under direct supervision.
What you'll do#
- Support designated units with clerical, administrative, and organizational tasks.
- Observe operations across divisions such as Administration, Records, Training, and Community Outreach.
- Handle filing, data entry, and document preparation.
- Help prepare non-confidential reports and correspondence.
- Provide logistical support for meetings, training sessions, and community events.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding all information you encounter.
- Follow all City and Police Department policies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university.
- Majors in Criminal Justice, Political Science, Public Health, or Sociology.
- Ability to meet the internship hour requirements set by your school.
- Ability to pass an application review, panel interview, and background screening.
- Reliability and a professional approach to maintaining confidentiality.
