    About the role#

    This is a rolling internship opportunity within the Finance department. You will assist the team with the Annual Operating Budget and Operating Plan. The role involves data collection, financial analysis, and maintaining reporting systems. You will work in a standard office environment in Springfield, Missouri.

    What you'll do#

    • Help prepare the Annual Operating Budget and Operating Plan.
    • Perform data collection and analysis to support forecasting.
    • Prepare monthly reconciliations and analyze financial statements for budget deviations.
    • Maintain project management reporting systems in PeopleSoft.
    • Develop monthly budgeted financial statements.
    • Prepare materials and presentations for budget meetings.
    • Support general finance goals, processes, and standards.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment as a full-time student in an Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or Computer Information Systems degree program.
    • Completion of at least one year of college, including at least six hours of accounting coursework.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and a willingness to learn enterprise software and AI-enhanced applications.
    • Ability to build and maintain working relationships.
    • Six months of recent accounting or general office experience is preferred.
    • Experience with Excel macros or Business Intelligence software is a plus.

    Location & details#

    • This position is based on-site in Springfield, Missouri.
    • You will work 20 to 25 hours per week during the school semester and 40 hours per week during the summer.
    • Undergraduate students must maintain at least 12 credit hours, while graduate students must maintain at least 6 credit hours.
    • This is a paid internship.
