About the role#
The Youth Advocacy Division of the Committee for Public Counsel Services in Worcester is seeking interns for the Winter 2027 term. You will work alongside attorneys and social workers to provide legal representation to juveniles. This role focuses on ensuring access to justice through a Positive Youth Development approach, including court representation and educational advocacy.
What you'll do#
- Conduct client interviews.
- Assist attorneys with arraignment and bail arguments.
- Perform legal research and draft pretrial motions, affidavits, and legal memoranda.
- Conduct pretrial investigations, which includes visiting crime scenes and interviewing witnesses.
- Support attorneys during jury and bench trials in criminal cases.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in law school.
- A demonstrated commitment to zealous advocacy, community-oriented defense, and the protection of constitutional and human rights.
- Access to reliable transportation for travel to courts, clients, and investigation sites.
- A personal computer with home internet access for remote work.
