About the role#
The Brand Management Internship provides MBA students with hands-on experience in the day-to-day responsibilities of an Associate Brand Manager. You will work on business challenges for our food brands, connecting consumer insights, category dynamics, and financial performance to deliver business impact. This program serves as a primary pathway into our full-time Associate Brand Manager positions.
What you'll do#
- Own a high-impact business project with visibility to senior leaders.
- Analyze consumer, customer, category, and competitive trends to identify risks, opportunities, and growth drivers.
- Evaluate business performance and translate insights into strategic recommendations across product, pricing, promotion, and placement.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Sales, Finance, Consumer Insights, Forecasting, Operations, Supply Chain, and Marketing to move initiatives from idea to execution.
- Develop selling stories, business cases, and presentations to influence business decisions.
- Explore emerging digital and AI-enabled tools to enhance analysis and decision-making.
- Gain exposure to performance tracking, forecasting, and P&L fundamentals.
- Present findings and recommendations to brand leaders and stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Must be entering your 1st year MBA program in Summer or Fall 2026.
- Must not graduate prior to August 2027.
- Demonstrated leadership through academic, professional, military, entrepreneurial, or extracurricular experiences.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to make data-driven recommendations.
- Curiosity about consumer behavior, business performance, and growth drivers.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Ability to influence and collaborate effectively in team environments.
- Business acumen and interest in Brand Management, Marketing, General Management, or Commercial Leadership.
- Digital fluency and interest in learning emerging analytics and AI-enabled tools.
Location & details#
- Location: Chicago, Illinois (On-site at The Merchandise Mart).
- Term: Summer 2027 (11 weeks from June to August).
- Employment: Full-time, paid internship.
