About the role#
Cordell and Cordell PC is hiring Summer Associates for the summer of 2027. This program provides second-year law students with practical experience in family law. You will work alongside experienced attorneys and firm leaders to gain a foundation in domestic litigation. The program mimics the daily work of a first-year associate, offering mentorship and professional development. Successful completion of the program may lead to part-time law clerk positions during your third year or full-time roles after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Draft and analyze legal documents for active family law cases.
- Conduct legal research and prepare trial materials.
- Attend court proceedings with experienced attorneys.
- Participate in client meetings to learn about case strategy.
- Work directly with a Litigation Partner to understand family law practice.
- Attend firm-sponsored networking and social events.
What you'll need#
- Current 2L student in good standing at an accredited law school.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- A clear interest in a career in family law.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to live in your assigned office location for the duration of the program.
