About the role#
Cordell and Cordell PC is hiring a Summer Associate for their Fort Lauderdale office. This paid internship provides second-year law students with practical experience in family law. The program mirrors the work of a first-year associate, offering mentorship and professional development. Successful participants may be considered for part-time law clerk positions during their third year and full-time roles after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Draft and analyze legal documents for active family law cases.
- Conduct legal research and prepare trial materials.
- Attend court proceedings with experienced attorneys.
- Participate in client meetings to gain insight into case strategy.
- Work directly with a Litigation Partner.
- Attend firm-sponsored networking and social events.
- Perform other tasks as needed to support firm operations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a 2L student at an accredited law school, with an expected graduation in 2028.
- Good standing at your law school with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- A demonstrated interest in a career in family law.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to reside in Fort Lauderdale for the duration of the program.
- Flexibility regarding work location upon graduation.
