About the role#
The Antigen Production Unit Co-Op position offers practical experience in bacterial fermentation operations within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. You will work at the St. Joseph, Gene Field facility to support the production of biological products and gain exposure to the early stages of animal vaccine manufacturing.
What you'll do#
- Read and follow schedules, procedures, and documents in a GMP environment.
- Perform aseptic processes while fully gowned in a clean room environment.
- Assist in troubleshooting and maintaining production equipment.
- Complete aseptic gowning and the ASTA program.
- Perform calculations and conversions involving weights, volumes, and percentages.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited college or university.
- A minimum of 12 credit hours completed for undergraduates or 9 credit hours for graduate students.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Major or minor in a related field.
- Ability to create spreadsheets for capturing and filtering data.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems.
- Proficiency in reading, comprehension, and applying complex procedures.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without restriction.
- Willingness to complete a drug test and post-offer physical if required.
