About the role#
As a Cybersecurity Intern at Cox Enterprises, you will join the Cyber team for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid position where you will work on projects that apply your academic knowledge to real-world business challenges. You will have a mentor to guide your professional development and provide exposure to senior leadership.
What you'll do#
- Support Cyber Defense initiatives, including security operations improvements and threat detection and response capabilities.
- Contribute to Cyber Governance, Risk and Compliance programs by managing metrics, supplier onboarding, and data privacy policies.
- Assist with application security reviews to identify and mitigate privacy and security risks.
- Support the cloud security team by developing and tuning posture management policies.
- Work alongside DevOps teams to integrate cybersecurity practices into code, infrastructure, and applications.
- Participate in the Cyber M&A program to assess cyber risks for new business acquisitions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program such as Computer Science, Information Technology with a Cybersecurity concentration, or Management Information Systems.
- Experience with cyber scripting languages like Python or Javascript.
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
- Prior leadership experience.
- Experience with business or process documentation.
- Authorization to work in the United States without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.
