About the role#
As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader to complete a training roadmap within 120 days of graduation. This role prepares you for a future Pharmacist position by deepening your understanding of pharmacy operations, patient safety, and professional standards.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and providing personalized service.
- Educate patients about vaccines and answer questions to obtain informed consent.
- Complete training to obtain Technician Immunizer status to prepare and administer vaccines.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Follow company procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Field medical questions and facilitate medication changes under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
What you'll need#
- PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the program.
- Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure.
- Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within state-mandated timeframes.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods.
