About the role#
As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy education to real-world practice to prepare for a future Pharmacist role. You will work under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader to complete a training roadmap within 120 days of graduation. This role focuses on store, district, and regional operations, including patient safety, quality assurance, and drug utilization review.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at workstations including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and care while serving patients.
- Complete basic inventory activities, such as putting away medication deliveries and completing cycle counts, as permitted by law.
- Support immunizations, including completing additional licensure and training requirements in compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations.
- Maintain pharmacy standards by adhering to company policies and procedures regarding patient safety and privacy.
What you'll need#
- PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program.
- Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within state guidelines.
- Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, reach overhead, and lift up to 20 lbs.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to solve problems in patient interactions.
