About the role#
As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy education to real-world practice. Under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader, you will complete a training roadmap within 120 days of graduation. This role prepares you for a future Pharmacist position by deepening your understanding of patient safety, quality assurance, and pharmacy operations.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
- Provide caring service that exceeds patient expectations at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations, including production and drop-off.
- Offer counseling, field medical questions, and solicit medical history information under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members while sharing best practices.
- Support immunizations by educating patients, obtaining informed consent, and monitoring for adverse reactions where permitted by law.
- Complete inventory activities such as cycle counts and returns-to-stocks.
What you'll need#
- PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the training program.
- Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure.
- Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and travel to other store locations in the market as needed.
