About the role#
Dewberry is hiring a Mechanical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to join our Nashville office. You will work with a project team to assist in the design of building mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection. This is a full-time, paid position that provides hands-on experience and exposure to professional project work.
What you'll do#
- Prepare mechanical engineering calculations, reports, construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and budgets.
- Assist in the design of building mechanical systems under the supervision of a registered Professional Engineer.
- Interact with project team members, clients, and contractors.
- Work in diverse teams to complete project tasks.
- Participate in professional development workshops, networking events, and a summer-long group project.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program for Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Attention to detail and a focus on quality control.
- Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, MS Word, and MS Excel is a plus.
- Previous internship experience with a consulting engineering firm is a plus.
- Certification as an Engineering Intern through NCEES is a plus.
