About the role#
As a Product Management and Supplier Development Intern, you will gain hands-on experience within the Supplier Organization. You will support initiatives that strengthen supplier engagement, optimize our product portfolio, and improve operational efficiencies. You will report to a Business Unit Manager and work alongside team members in supplier development, product management, and inventory strategy to learn how these partnerships drive our success. You will also complete a capstone project to apply your skills in a practical setting.
What you'll do#
- Learn the end-to-end practice of supplier relationship management and performance tracking.
- Analyze supplier data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Update documentation and develop resources to improve communication between DigiKey and suppliers.
- Gain exposure to contract terms, compliance requirements, and inventory management strategies.
- Participate in cross-functional projects, team meetings, and brainstorming sessions.
- Conduct research and analysis while maintaining organized project files.
- Assist with day-to-day tasks and support the team in their regular duties.
What you'll need#
- Current student or recent graduate with education in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or Marketing.
- Strong interest in hands-on learning.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Average to above-average computer ability, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to take initiative and work both independently and collaboratively.
- A positive, collaborative approach to teamwork.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship located on-site at our corporate headquarters in Thief River Falls, Minnesota.
- Local housing is provided for interns.
- Undergraduate pay ranges from $21.00 to $23.00 per hour, while graduate pay is $26.00 for Masters students and $29.00 for PhD students.
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based immigration sponsorship.
