About the role#
As a Construction Management Co-op at DN, you will gain hands-on experience in civil engineering and construction. You will work with a mentor to contribute to real projects and learn about the lifecycle of heavy-civil construction from start to finish.
What you'll do#
- Identify local concrete suppliers and prepare pricing for concrete and shotcrete mixes.
- Work with suppliers to develop and trial batch mix designs.
- Assist Project Engineers with preparing detailed project submittals.
- Create AutoCAD site layout drawings for items like cut/fill slopes, ramps, work roads, crane positions, and casting bed locations.
- Coordinate with subcontractors for sitework, rebar, cranes, and concrete.
- Perform jobsite pre-pour inspections alongside Project Engineers and Project Managers.
- Visit construction sites during precast panel erection.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Engineering or Construction Management undergraduate program, with a preference for Civil Engineering.
- Experience with CAD software and Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize work, and solve problems in both individual and team settings.
- Reliable transportation to Wakefield, Massachusetts.
