About the role#
As a Preconstruction Estimating Co-op, you will support the estimating team on heavy-civil construction projects. You will work with a mentor to learn the project lifecycle from conception to completion and gain hands-on experience in the field.
What you'll do#
- Assist Regional Estimators with project site condition evaluations.
- Create tank site layout drawings using AutoCAD.
- Prepare earthwork takeoffs in Civil 3D and sitework cost estimates in Excel.
- Solicit bid level pricing for subcontractor scopes, including cranes, rebar installation, and fence work.
- Draft Requests for Quotation for local subcontractors.
- Visit local tank construction sites to observe progress.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate Engineering or Construction Management program, with a preference for Civil Engineering concentrations.
- Experience with CAD software, specifically AutoCAD.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Strong time management and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and solve problems independently or within a team.
Location & details#
- This role is located in Wakefield, Massachusetts.
- You must provide your own transportation to the site.
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site position with a rolling term.
