About the role#
We are looking for a Futures & Options Trading Analyst Intern to join our derivatives trading desk. This role provides hands-on experience with quantitative modeling, market data analysis, and real-time trading operations. You will work directly with traders and researchers to evaluate strategies and manage risk. This is a paid, four-week summer internship based in our New York office.
What you'll do#
- Conduct quantitative analysis of futures and options markets across asset classes like equities, rates, FX, and commodities.
- Assist in the development and backtesting of trading strategies.
- Analyze implied volatility, option Greeks, and volatility surfaces.
- Build dashboards, reports, and analytical tools to support trading decisions.
- Perform statistical analysis on historical market data.
- Monitor market movements, track P&L, and assist with risk reporting.
- Identify pricing anomalies and relative-value opportunities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program in Financial Engineering, Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, or Economics.
- Strong understanding of derivatives, specifically futures and options.
- A solid foundation in probability, statistics, and linear algebra.
- Proficiency in Python (NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, Matplotlib), R, or C++.
- Ability to work with and analyze large datasets.
