About the role#
As a DevOps Engineer Intern, you will join a small, global team responsible for firm-wide infrastructure and platform solutions. This is a hands-on role where you will contribute directly to production systems.
What you'll do#
- Deploy and operate workloads on Kubernetes, including containers, pods, and services.
- Use a GitOps model with Argo CD to manage desired states and troubleshoot sync issues.
- Extend observability by working with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Triage alerts by validating signals and correlating them with recent system changes.
- Build dashboards and panels from existing metrics.
- Participate in platform upgrades following established runbooks.
- Assist in migrating services from bare metal to Kubernetes.
- Contribute to internal AI-assisted tooling while maintaining security standards.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, with an expected graduation date by Summer 2028.
- Practical experience with Linux fundamentals, including shell, processes, and logs.
- Understanding of networking basics like DNS, TCP, HTTP, and load balancing.
- Proficiency in Git workflows and Python for scripting.
- Ability to read YAML for configuration files.
- Interest in SRE and DevOps practices such as reliability and documentation.
- Coursework or project experience with Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana, CI/CD, Terraform, or Ansible is a plus.
- Familiarity with AI coding assistants and an interest in agent patterns.
