About the role#
The Actuarial Intern program is a 12-week, full-time opportunity running from May 17, 2027, through August 6, 2027. You will work directly with actuarial professionals, leaders, and senior management to gain practical experience in the health insurance industry. This role requires you to work on-site in Indianapolis to facilitate face-to-face collaboration and team engagement.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to actuarial projects such as healthcare cost analysis, trend projection, valuation, risk quantification, and health insurance pricing.
- Apply actuarial methods and tools to real healthcare challenges.
- Participate in educational sessions, discussion panels, and networking events to learn about the industry.
- Present a key project and your findings at the conclusion of the internship.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BA/BS degree program in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week on-site for the duration of the program.
- Progress toward actuarial credentials.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with analytical or programming tools such as R, Python, SAS, SQL, or VBA.
