About the role#
This co-op position supports the Technology Development team at Extreme Engineering Solutions. You will work on the materials foundation for rugged single board computers and other embedded computing products designed for industrial, military, and aerospace environments. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Verona, Wisconsin.
What you'll do#
- Characterize, select, and qualify materials for embedded computing products.
- Build and refine thermal and mechanical models.
- Support failure analysis execution and methodology development.
- Document experiments and present your findings to the team.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Materials Science & Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Completed coursework in materials fundamentals, specifically structure-property relationships and thermodynamics.
- Hands-on lab experience with optical microscopy, sample preparation, and mechanical testing.
- Strong attention to detail and a creative approach to troubleshooting.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
