About the role#
As an Engineering Intern at onsemi, you will work alongside experienced teams to develop, test, and improve semiconductor products. This program offers hands-on experience in areas including hardware design, software development, manufacturing, and data analytics. You will contribute to projects that support electric vehicles, renewable energy, and industrial automation. Interns participate in professional development workshops, mentorship programs, and networking events throughout the summer.
What you'll do#
- Design and conduct experiments, product characterization, and validation activities.
- Analyze technical data to identify trends and drive engineering decisions.
- Develop software tools, automation solutions, and data analytics dashboards.
- Support product qualification, manufacturing optimization, and reliability assessments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, and business functions.
- Document technical findings and present project outcomes to leadership.
- Utilize industry-standard software, programming languages, and laboratory equipment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Coursework or experience in semiconductor devices, fabrication, or device physics.
- Familiarity with analog, mixed-signal, or power electronics.
- Experience with Silicon Carbide (SiC), Gallium Nitride (GaN), Power MOSFET, or IGBT technologies.
- Programming proficiency in Python, MATLAB, JMP, LabVIEW, or SQL.
- Experience with circuit simulation tools like Cadence, SPICE, or LTspice.
- Laboratory experience using oscilloscopes, source measure units, or automated test systems.
- Experience with AI tools, machine learning, or statistical modeling.

- Modality: On-site at one of our facilities in Scottsdale, AZ; Allen, TX; San Jose, CA; Hopewell Junction, NY; Nampa, ID; Mountain Top, PA; or Gresham, OR.
- Status: This is a paid, full-time internship.
