About the role#
The Regional & Community Outreach department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston is seeking a graduate intern for the Fall 2026 term. This role supports a data analysis project focused on community development research and financial inclusion in low-to-moderate income communities. You will gain hands-on experience by contributing to ongoing research and analytical efforts within the Bank.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with team members to enhance existing data analysis and visualization methods.
- Conduct literature reviews on relevant methodologies, data sources, and analytical approaches.
- Assist with the collection, cleaning, and management of data from multiple public surveys and datasets.
- Support the development and implementation of quantitative models, including statistical estimation, forecasting, and clustering.
- Perform geospatial analysis to identify regional patterns and trends.
- Create data visualizations and contribute to interactive dashboards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in economics, public policy, statistics, data science, or a related field.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, supported by coursework in statistics and data analysis.
- Proficiency in at least one statistical software package such as R or Python.
- Experience with data manipulation, cleaning, and analysis of large datasets.
- Experience using Tableau for data visualization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
