About the role#
This co-op position offers exposure to the engineering design process at Fives Machining Systems. You will take on assignments with increasing scope and responsibility throughout your term. You will work on machine tool products, moving from initial design and analysis to following up on assembly and testing in the lab or on the production floor.
What you'll do#
- Design and analyze machine tool products.
- Participate in assembly and prototype testing.
- Perform failure modes and effects analysis.
- Conduct root cause problem analysis.
- Work with cross-functional project teams.
- Engage in design review techniques and hazard analysis.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Computer Engineering.
- Ability to interpret design input requirements.
- Experience with 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation.
- Familiarity with design verification and validation testing.
- Capacity to interface with Controls Electrical engineering teams.
- Understanding of subsystem and system level product analysis.
