    About the role#

Foundation is building dexterous hands and fingers for humanoid robots. This requires custom electronics at every level, from miniaturized motor drivers to flexible sensor arrays. We need an Electrical Engineering intern to help us design, build, and iterate on this hardware. You will work alongside our core team, own real PCB designs, and help bridge the gap between our mechanical systems and electronics stack. This is a chance to join a small team where interns own subsystems and debug hardware on the bench. Successful interns may transition to a full-time role with the founding team.

    What you'll do#

    • Design, build, and iterate on custom electronics for robotic hands.
    • Own real PCB designs, bring-up procedures, and hardware validation work.
    • Debug hardware on the bench alongside the core team.
    • Contribute to the integration of mechanical systems and electronics.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
    • Strong grasp of analog circuit fundamentals, such as Ohm's law and filter design.
    • Understanding of power electronics basics, including switching regulators and H-bridge motor drives.
    • Hands-on experience with schematic capture and PCB layout in tools like KiCad or Altium Designer.
    • Familiarity with rigid-flex or flex PCB design concepts.
    • Ability to read component datasheets and configure hardware independently.

    Location & details#

    • Location: San Francisco, California.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Term: Rolling.
    • This is a paid, full-time internship. We do not offer visa sponsorship.
