About the role#
Join our roadway team for a summer internship in Chicago. You will work on client projects alongside experienced engineers and professionals who provide guidance and mentorship. This is a full-time, paid position running from mid-May through mid-August 2027.
What you'll do#
- Create engineering and construction drawings using MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, or AutoCAD.
- Perform basic engineering calculations and input data into analysis software.
- Conduct inspections of roadways and highways during field assignments.
- Review drawings and proofread reports to support various project phases.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited undergraduate or graduate program in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Demonstrated interest or prior internship experience in Roadway and Highway Engineering.
- Basic proficiency in CAD, spreadsheets, technical writing, and interpreting design drawings.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, or OpenRoads Designer.
- Familiarity with engineering analysis tools like Civil 3D and HEC-RAS is preferred.

- Location: Chicago, Illinois.
- Work Modality: Hybrid.
- Compensation: $21.00 to $28.00 per hour, depending on experience and location.
