About the role#
Garda Capital Partners is looking for a Software Engineer Intern to join our Research and Technology team in New York. This role provides exposure to enterprise software development practices within a global hedge fund environment during the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Build new business solutions using Python and SQL.
- Assist senior staff with the design and implementation of front office and risk systems.
- Maintain and support in-house and third-party applications.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Quantitative Finance.
- Experience with the Python ecosystem and common libraries.
- Working knowledge of at least one statically typed language.
- Solid grasp of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and operating systems.
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and high attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a time-sensitive environment.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows, alongside the ability to write and debug code independently.
- Interest or prior experience in the financial trading industry, specifically fixed income, is a plus.
