About the role#
As a Civil Site Engineer Intern, you will support our engineering team by helping prepare designs, calculations, and technical reports. You will work under supervision to ensure all project documentation meets established engineering standards and requirements. This role involves both office-based design work and field investigations to support project needs.
What you'll do#
- Prepare engineering drawings, design layouts, and construction documents.
- Perform basic engineering calculations for grading, drainage, and utilities.
- Conduct field investigations, collect measurements, and document site conditions.
- Prepare technical reports and design documentation for review.
- Apply established engineering standards and project requirements.
- Maintain and organize project files and technical documentation.
- Participate in project meetings and coordinate tasks with team members.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited program.
- Completed at least two years of school.
- A GPA of 2.7 or higher is strongly preferred.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Experience with transportation and bridge projects or prior internships is a plus.
- Involvement in campus, community, or volunteer organizations.

- Locations: Lenexa, Kansas and Austin, Texas.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
- Work is on-site.
- This is a rolling term position.
- Ability to travel for project site visits, training, or conferences may be required.
- A valid driver's license and an insurable driving record are required to operate vehicles for business purposes.
