    About the role#

    As a Mechanical Field Engineer Intern, you will join our construction team to support project activities. You will apply standard engineering techniques and procedures through assignments of varying complexity. This role is intended for students considering a career in power generation or large-scale industrial construction. You will assist with project controls, material management, purchasing, and scheduling.

    What you'll do#

    • Understand the scope of work, contracts, plans, and specifications while identifying discrepancies for resolution.
    • Support the technical interface between the site, the Project Engineering Manager, and the Engineer of Record.
    • Assist Field Engineers with work planning and problem resolution for the General and Discipline Superintendents.
    • Monitor field changes and provide redline drawings for as-built conditions.
    • Interface with subcontractors and track weekly schedule progress.
    • Review testing reports for compliance and provide documentation for change order requests.
    • Inspect delivered materials with the QA/QC representative to ensure project requirements are met.
    • Generate, track, and sign off on mechanical punch list items.
    • Prepare material requisitions and track RFIs for your assigned discipline.
    • Integrate mechanical documentation for turnover packages and assist the start-up team during checkout and performance tests.
    • Track and record lessons learned.

    What you'll need#

    • Current pursuit of a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related construction field.
    • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong organizational, time management, and attention to detail skills.
    • A commitment to ethics, integrity, safety, and quality.
    • Ability to work well in a team environment.

    • Location: Austin, Texas.
    • Term: Summer 2027 (12 to 15 weeks).
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Status: Full-time paid internship.
