About the role#
As an Electrical Field Engineer Intern, you will join our construction team to support the electrical department at an assigned project site. You will engage in various projects while applying standard engineering techniques and procedures. This role is for students considering a career in power generation or large-scale industrial construction after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Support the creation of layouts and plans using approved schematics or drawings.
- Evaluate designs and specifications to assist with process improvement inquiries.
- Order materials and manage relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Create daily reports to document project progress.
- Track electrical installations using the Quantity Progress Report (QPR) and complete the Time Allocation Tool (TAT).
- Manage documentation including turnover packages, cable schedules, and electrical termination packages.
- Maintain radio communication on-site.
- Upload and print electrical drawings for field supervisors.
- Spot check field quantities and job progress.
- Communicate with Engineering and Document Control to ensure drawings remain current.
- Track the Scope of Work (SOW) and support Superintendents as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related construction field.
- Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and project schedules.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A strong work ethic and a commitment to ethics, integrity, safety, and quality.
- Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.

- Term: Summer 2027 (12-15 weeks).
