About the role#
The Lab Technician Intern supports our engineering team in Santa Monica, California. You will work on hardware testing, prototyping, and validation for our clean energy product line. This is a hands-on role where you will work directly with engineers to test new products. This position is on-site, 5 days a week.
What you'll do#
- Set up, operate, and maintain lab equipment like oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and electronic loads.
- Build cables, harnesses, and test fixtures to support product validation.
- Conduct hardware tests on prototypes under the supervision of an engineer.
- Document test setups, procedures, and results with accuracy.
- Assist engineers with troubleshooting hardware issues and identifying root causes.
- Maintain lab organization, equipment calibration logs, and inventory.
- Follow safety protocols regarding electrical equipment and high-voltage systems.
- Complete a defined project that delivers value to the team.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology, or a related field.
- Coursework or hands-on experience with circuits, basic electronics, or electrical systems.
- Familiarity with lab equipment such as power supplies, multimeters, and oscilloscopes.
- Ability to use hand tools, solder, and assemble electrical components.
- Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills.
- Ability to follow lab safety protocols.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
