About the role#
The GPS Student Apprentice position is a paid, full-time opportunity based in Berlin, Wisconsin. This role is open to current high school students enrolled in a qualified GPS Apprenticeship program. You will work on-site in a manufacturing environment, gaining hands-on experience with assembly processes and equipment.
What you'll do#
- Assemble products using work instructions, drawings, schematics, and electronic equipment.
- Follow safety standards for all tools and machinery.
- Cross train across multiple assembly areas to support business needs.
- Participate in team meetings to share job-related information.
- Resolve assembly problems with help from peers or supervisors.
- Provide basic training to other employees on standard work instructions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a qualified GPS Apprenticeship program.
- Previous manufacturing or mechanical experience, or relevant school coursework.
- Ability to perform repetitive assembly tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively within a team.
- Proficiency in basic reading, writing, and math.
- Ability to interpret visual diagrams and use basic hand tools.
- Capacity to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
