About the role#
Gerdau North America is hiring a Continuous Improvement Intern for our G.Start program in Midlothian, Texas. This is a paid, full-time summer internship focused on project work within our steel manufacturing operations. You will work alongside our teams to identify process improvements and gain hands-on experience in a global manufacturing environment.
What you'll do#
- Manage the day-to-day administration and team training for continuous improvement software platforms.
- Partner with operations teams to identify improvement opportunities and analyze relevant data.
- Support the implementation of process changes to improve safety, quality, and cost-savings.
- Apply Lean and Six Sigma tools, including 5S, Root Cause Analysis, Standard Work, and Process Mapping, to streamline operations and reduce waste.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Entering your Junior or Senior year of undergraduate studies.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5, with a 3.0 or higher preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in student organizations or extra-curricular activities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Legal authorization to work full-time in the United States without requiring sponsorship.
