About the role#
This is an 8-month co-op or internship position for an Electrical Engineer. You will join the Reliability Team at our Selkirk facility to gain hands-on experience in steel manufacturing. This is a full-time, paid position that requires you to work on-site.
What you'll do#
- Update equipment and facility drawings.
- Assist engineers with capital expenditure improvement projects.
- Manage smaller non-capex projects.
- Collaborate with outside vendors and consultants while assisting in the management of contractors.
- Work closely with and support the electrical planner.
- Plan electrical jobs and manage the ordering of parts.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least two years of an Electrical Engineering degree from a recognized university.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5, with a preference for 3.0 or higher.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented approach with solid organizational habits.
- Ability to work independently and learn quickly.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada without requiring current or future sponsorship.
- Experience with AutoCAD, PLCs, and automation is a plus.
