About the role#
As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you will work alongside engineering and operational leaders to solve real-world problems. Projects vary based on your education level and plant location. You will gain hands-on experience in the steel industry and contribute to ongoing maintenance and engineering initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Recommend or perform predictive, preventative, and emergency maintenance on equipment.
- Research, design, evaluate, install, modernize, and repair machinery.
- Resolve equipment malfunctions, including those during scheduled shutdowns or breakdowns.
- Participate in the planning, scheduling, and cost control of maintenance and engineering projects.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
- Analyze operating performance and standard procedures to recommend improvements.
- Assist with various other projects to support business operations.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor of Science program for Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related technical degree.
- Completion of at least your sophomore year of study by the summer of 2027.
- Current legal authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
