About the role#
We are looking for a Civil Design Intern to join our team in Buffalo. You will work alongside drafters and designers on a variety of federal, municipal, and industrial projects. This role involves tasks such as topographic survey, sewer, water, and drainage pipeline projects. You will work under close supervision as you learn to manage technical tasks and project deadlines.
What you'll do#
- Perform design and drafting work for various infrastructure projects.
- Prepare simple plans and designs.
- Draft routine correspondence, standardized documents, and work plans.
- Create construction documents for internal review.
- Make technical decisions with guidance from your team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an associate degree program for Drafting, Design, Civil Engineering Technology, or a similar field. Relevant experience may be considered in place of a degree.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with Civil 3D is preferred.
- Experience with ArcGIS is a plus.
- Ability to handle multiple project tasks at once.
- A flexible approach to meeting deadlines.
- A self-starting attitude and the ability to work well within a team.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship based in Buffalo, New York.
- The role follows a hybrid work model, requiring you to be in the office three days per week.
- The position is offered on a rolling basis.
