About the role#
This internship offers an opportunity to contribute to exploratory projects within Kite Research. You will support lab-in-the-loop protein production and engineering workflows while gaining experience in a biotechnology research environment. The role includes participation in professional development events and concludes with a final presentation of your work.
What you'll do#
- Participate in exploratory projects, including the evaluation of new assays and the implementation of small-scale automation solutions.
- Perform recombinant protein expression, purification, and analytics.
- Conduct biophysical and biochemical protein characterization.
- Maintain detailed records using ELN/LIMS systems.
- Coordinate tasks across multiple projects while managing competing priorities.
- Communicate project plans and results through oral and written updates.
What you'll need#
- Current full-time enrollment in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, MBA, JD, or PhD program, with plans to return to school in the Fall.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8.
- Ability to work full-time for 10 to 12 consecutive weeks between May and August.
- Independent authorization to work in the United States now and in the future without sponsorship.
- Experience in recombinant or cell-free protein expression or protein purification.
- Familiarity with analytical methods such as SDS-PAGE, Western blot, UPLC/HPLC, or DLS.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Basic programming experience in Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
