About the role#
This Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op position offers a chance to apply your engineering coursework to real-world projects. You will work within a Strategic Business Unit to support production, analyze operational layouts, and contribute to team-based initiatives. This is a paid, full-time role based on-site in Dayton, Minnesota, spanning the Summer and Fall of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Provide production support for machining and assembly areas.
- Troubleshoot issues and provide technical assistance.
- Evaluate the need for machine or assembly area upgrades.
- Participate in capital equipment justification.
- Review operational layouts and suggest improvements.
- Assist with the selection and implementation of tooling and fixtures.
- Engage in root cause analysis, corrective actions, and quality improvements.
- Report man-hour estimates and adjust to changing priorities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program for Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or a comparable field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Mechanical aptitude and a desire for hands-on work.
- Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD.
- Experience with 3D printers.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
